Gaming - dangerous or not?

They play on computer, xbox or ps and they have between 8 and 18 years? At least one of them is dependent and has psychological problems, according to the most recent reasearch made in U.S.A. But in EU, these children are seen superintelligent and very handsome.

The Bad News

This month, some researchers from The National Institute on Media and the Family and The State University from Iowa made studies at 1.178 children with ages between 8 and 18 . They found out that one of ten is negatively influenced regarding to their relationships with parents and friends and also to the attention granted to homework and school, generally speaking. Some of them have similar symptoms with gambling dependents : they lie to relatives, they play to forget some problems, they can't start something new or they get frustrated after they end the game and some of them are even tempted to steal to buy new games. Game addicts have played almost double the time of an usual player. This means 24 hours a week, an entire day spent on gaming.

The researchers are saying that they have identified six from 11 symptoms of those "sick" with gambling at childrens greedy for videogaming. Right now, the Psychic Medical Communi doesn't consider gaming as a mental illness, but after two or three studies like this one, it will surely become one.

EU is positive

Quoted from a report of the EU Committee for market policies and consumer's protection, published in february 2009 „ videogames are good for children, they increase creativity and teamwork, stimulate learning and strategic thinking ”. Specialists haven't gathered yet information even for supporting the idea that videogames have bad influence over children. It is also said that the average age of the european gamer is 33 years.

The whole profits from videogames in EU have reached 7 billions euro, and in UK they have overcome other similar entertainment products like movies or songs.

EU admits that not all game are good for children - just as books or movies, made for adults can stimulate violence in some conditions. But they don't do anything else besides making those rating systems, like PEGI (Pan European Game Information).

In october last year, Don Foster, a british politician decided to defend the gaming industry in a interview to The Guardian. He said that the profit emerging from gaming is huge and it's a great plus and help to UK's economy and it must have the full support. But what about children? What about their personal life?

Back to USA

In december 2008, Deborah Taylor Tate – member of FCC throws with mud in the entertainment industry, putting the accent on online games like World of Warcraft, saying that these games are dangerous for students and are one of the main reasons why they quit high school studies.

Top violent games

In march 2009 PCAdvisor.co.uk publishes a 15 top of the most violent games ever, but I couldn't find Postal 2, definitely one of the best from this category. I don't consider it really scary and violent , but it's their decision :P

How to sell online

The Internet has become almost the biggest market in the world. In United Kingdom, people don't go out from their houses anymore not even for a soda or something like that! They just make the order online and this is it. Nowadays, everybody that has a big name must have also a great site. Selling online for most of big companies is becoming more and more attracting because this means easier way to deliver and to deal with the client. You don't need so much employees anymore, just the guys that are delivering the package. Now, this applies to companies with many people involved, but how do we sell online if you are alone ore just a few?

You want to sell online, ok, so start learning from others! Yes, yes, search for tips and try to understand how successful sites and online business are made. You can even contact the administrators for additional info. Also, get out of your head that get rich quickly scheme. It's just mere fantasy. Research the market and look for what people are wanting right now and what they would like to buy. For example, search a good online book that is very cheap and also, very good. If you can find a SEO book at 10-15 bucks, then you already have a good marketing strategy.

Are you afraid of buying a www.yoursite.com? Don't be. You can find a dot com domain at very good prices, you just have to make a deep scout. Next, you'll need a hacker-guy to help you make the site. And remember, make it user friendly. Quick and simple are the two keywords.

Good Luck!

To be or not to be Rich?

You are not to try to do tomorrow's work today, nor to do a week's work in a day. It is really not the number of things you do, but the EFFICIENCY of each separate action that counts.

Every act is, in itself, either a success or a failure.

Every act is, in itself, either effective or inefficient.

Every inefficient act is a failure, and if you spend your life in doing inefficient acts, your whole life will be a failure.

The more things you do, the worse for you, if all your acts are inefficient ones.

On the other hand, every efficient act is a success in itself, and if every act of your life is an efficient one, your whole life MUST be a success.

The cause of failure is doing too many things in an inefficient manner, and not doing enough things in an efficient manner.

You will see that it is a self-evident proposition that if you do not do any inefficient acts, and if you do a sufficient number of efficient acts, you will become rich. If, now, it is possible for you to make each act an efficient one, you see again that the getting of riches is reduced to an exact science, like mathematics.

The matter turns, then, on the question as to whether you can make each separate act a success in itself. And this you can certainly do.

You can make each act a success, because ALL Power is working with you; and ALL Power cannot fail.

Power is at your service; and to make each act efficient you have only to put power into it.

Every action is either strong or weak; and when every one is strong, you are acting in the Certain Way which will make you rich.

Every act can be made strong and efficient by holding your vision while you are doing it, and putting the whole power of your FAITH and PURPOSE into it.

It is at this point that the people fail who separate mental power from personal action. They use the power of mind in one place and at one time, and they act in another pace and at another time. So their acts are not successful in themselves; too many of them are inefficient. But if ALL Power goes into every act, no matter how commonplace, every act will be a success in itself; and as in the nature of things every success opens the way to other successes, your progress toward what you want, and the progress of what you want toward you, will become increasingly rapid.

Obama is wrong

Even after his first day as the president of USA, Obama looked bizarre and deceiving to me. After just one month, I realized why I felt like that. Obama lied during his campaign. I am going to give you a list and you'll be the judge. He has done the total opposite of what he said that he will do.

1. He said that after he'd won the elections, he will bring home the troops in Iraq in 6 months. Now, the term is set at 26 months. There are already 5000 American soldiers dead and almost 1.000.000 Iraqis! Now ask yourself, why is he doing this?

2. Immediately after the elections he sent 30000 soldiers to Afghanistan. Is this a man who wants a change? And he is going to do it, again, with guns?

3. He said that he will close the Guantanamo prison. Now, there are reports that prisoners are taken into other foreign countries and tortured. Obama is making the dictatorial regime of secret arrest, secret prisons and detention withouttrial. Obama is not only endorsing Bush's crimes, but continuing them.

4. Did you check out his staff? 90% are Wall-Street man. Those who made this crisis are now in the government! This is the first time when we don't have any engineer, social adviser in president's staff. Instead, we have doctors in economy who seems to have no clue about the real events around the world. Only lobbyist there!

5. Obama said he was upset with the bailout. How, in God's name he could when the bailout was engineered by Rahm Emanuel, an American born in Israel, chief of his staff.

6. Global warming. After feeling the president's chair underneath him, Obama issued over 100 new taxes for green purposes. But wait a minute, who said that man is the real cause of global warming? Gore has built a "green money making machine". Remember, it's not the global warming but the THEORY of it. There is nothing sure yet...

7. Here is one sentence from a directive of the Ministry of Defence : "Civilian Expeditionary force shall deploy in support of combat operations by the military." He is building a separate army outside the government that will follow only Obama's orders. If you have over 18, you MUST make 3 month of military training.

8. Forget about the Free Speech! There are going to be laws for controlling the news and Internet sites so that you won't be able to "plot" against Obama!

9. The National Coordinator of Health is going to tell you what treatments are good for you or what medicines ar bad. Those who use alternative medicine, be aware, you'll going to be outlaws!

10. Obama is encircling China, Iran and Russia. He is also setting bases in Africa, he is going to dominate Africa throw Africa Command. His cousin, Odinga, is a dictator in Kenya and has Obama's full support...

He is not the president you voted for. In fact, he is one of the best actors in the world. They must give him an Oscar for how well he played his role. The question now is - Is there one good thing that Obama did or he is going to do?

The history of "Fuck"

We always use it and we all deny it. It is something vulgar and obscen. When you hear somebody saying "fuck", you'll think that this guy is bad educated and doesn't now how to speak. But for how many years this word exists, have you thought about that?

We can't find a genuine and first evidence of this word, but we know that it is a very old word and even then it has been considered shocking. Today things are different, we hear it in movies, TV shows, internet... "Fuck" appeared first in a poem composed sometime before 1500. It was a mixture of Latin and English, and it satirizes the Carmelite friars of Cambridge, England, takes its title, "Flen flyys," from the first words of its opening line, "Flen, flyys, and freris," that is, "fleas, flies, and friars." The line that contains fuck reads "Non sunt in coeli, quia gxddbov xxkxzt pg ifmk." The Latin words "Non sunt in coeli, quia," mean "they [the friars] are not in heaven, since." The code "gxddbov xxkxzt pg ifmk" is easily broken by simply substituting the preceding letter in the alphabet, keeping in mind differences in the alphabet and in spelling between then and now: i was then used for both i and j; v was used for both u and v; and vv was used for w. This yields "fvccant [a fake Latin form] vvivys of heli." The whole thus reads in translation:

"They are not in heaven because they fuck wives of Ely [a town near Cambridge]."

Is PayPal secure?

PayPal is an internet service which allows transfer of money between email users, avoiding traditional methods of money transfer, such as completing and sending checks or payment orders. Also,PayPal offers the services and processing payments - for sellers / buyers of the e-commerce, auctions sites and other organizations - in exchange for a fee.

In terms of figures PayPal represents:

- 96 million Internet users
- 95% of shopping done on eBay
- 90% of sales on eBay
- In 2004, the total value of transactions through the PayPal system was $ 18.9 billion, increasing by 55% every year
- In 2005 the total payments made by PayPal was 27.5 $ billion, according to data from eBay.

How does PayPal work.

The service acts as a broker transactions, allowing the deployment of money from one user to another without any of them could have access to details of the bank card or the other. The principle is quite simple: PayPal is a mediator of money clients.

Need for a PayPal account

Not necessary technology or special licenses. The following is sufficient:
- An email address that is valid - A bank account or a valid credit card.

What can be used with PayPal?

- Purchase products from the sites of e-commerce. eg eBay. - Participation in online auctions pay. - Transactions personal service giving you the option of referral money for personal use and for online payments.

PayPal secure?

No system is 100% sure, so they created various methods, checks and balances so as to minimize the errors and of fraud in the system. The most common method of fraud against the type of PayPal is the phising.

What is your phising?

Phising's email is spam, or spam, which clicking on a link will redirect to a website where it is necessary introduction of more personal data. Normally the user will receive an email apparently from an official family organization, a bank or an online payment service, where they claim closing an account. Since everything seems very original, the user tends to believe this message. Content message indicates that the user has to "update" or "validate" the information regarding the account or, otherwise the account will be suspended. Not wanting this, the user will follow the instructions in the email. This link leads to a replica of the site mentioned in the email. On this page, the user is asked to enter personal data and various confidential informations, such as card number, user name, password etc.. These data are collected and used for "identity theft".

Transform yourself into a real Guru

You heard about The Secret, about the law of attraction, about positive thinking? I'm sure you have. But do you really trust them, do you think you know the underneath purposes? What actually means to want something? You know, there are people who imagine themselves living in a marble house with million dollar houses, beautiful wifes and smart kids...They do it sitting in front of the computer and searching for those get-rich-and-quick schemese. Why do they believe this lies about getting rich? Because they've been misleaded...You don't have to read tons of books on spirituality to know how to set some purposes in your life. From what I saw, in fact most of the author are having the same ideas, just that some of the use different colors and styles for expressing it. The main self-developing advices are - positive attitude, visualization, affirmation, keeping the eye on the goal and moving forward.

 - Positive Attitude -

No matter what you are doing and when, always try to keep a positive outlook. Your inner Universe is like a huge magnet, and maintaining positive attitude will help this magnet attract more and more steel. The chance of meeting positive people and feeling benefits from the transformations in your life will eventually increase. The are cases when you lose your job, when your girlfriends dumps you... Those moments are like an emotional chaos. I don't advice you to start showing and maintaining immediately a positive attitude towards the things that happened. You must be positive in what concerns your own state of minde. You feel bad about what happened and you must focus on positive attitude inside yourself, first of all. Don't start "crying" and begging Jesus for help, these are stupid actions. Calm down inside, then ask God for advice. He won't help somebody that doesn't know how to receive this help.

Here is a tricky part. Being positive doesn't mean you can be lazy, as I said in the beginning. You must move, you must act in order to get what you want! Don't get me wrong, I don't say that you have to work, because working in this society is just a soft form of slavery. Act, create, inovate! These are the actions. Work just until you can only act, and act just until you don't have to work!

 - Visualization -

Many spiritual teachers have said that "what's inside is in the outside". What does this means? It mean that all the things that humankind has accomplished were initially mental pictures. Of course, there wasn't a human who could imagine in the 10th century that the world could become like this, but there was many people who had many mental pictures for their own lifes, put together, these pictures evolved and transformed their society.

It's vital that you see, that you picture your place in this world, even your life's panorama. Most of use want those expensive things, like car, watches, computers, traveling to Africa or having a fat wallet. You want to be like that? It's not a sin, of course, but it can lead to greediness. So, keep in mind that you must help others too. There are many poor people and you can bring a smile on their faces...In order to be prosperous you must create a image of prosperity.  You can never really reach the position that you yearn for unless you have a definite idea of the direction you are taking, and making the effort to continuously keep in mind where you see yourself being can be helpful in discovering where you want to be, as well as helping you to reach your goal.

- Affirmation -

"I did it!" "I made it!" "I was there!"  People are affirming something only after they manage to accomplish it. There are, of course, exceptions. Sport. Coaches and team captains always encourage the  team by saying out loud the purpose - "Let's beat the hell out of them, guys!" This is how people confirm what they want, what they need and strive for. Write down, right know, what do you want. Yes, in this moment, right down - I want a brand new Leica and a new notebook. Huh, and this is it? You probably heard already about advices like this one, butwanOften, the word affirmation conjures up images of how other people can confirm your wants and needs, but it is not complete! The correct affirmation is - I WANT A BRAND NEW LEICA AND A NOTEBOOK AND I WILL HAVE IT! Remaining at the state of wanting will not help you. There are billions of people who want something, and few of them are saying it loud and much less are actually believing and affirming that they will manage to have! Feel like you already have that Leica, feel that you are already typing at a brand new HP Widescreen.

The more often you say them aloud and confirm your dreams, the likelier it is that they will come true.

 - Always Keep Your Eye on Your Goal -

Today you want something and by tomorrow you'll forget it. Don't make this awful mistake! Maintaining a focus on your ambitions is an essential technique for achieving the purpose. The Universe will reject your desires if you'll stop being pushy! Don't let other things interfere with your desires and goals. You don't want to be sidetracked by unfortunate events, so focus on your set of aims. I want to do this, that and that. After I'll finish doing this, that and that I'll start a new row of TTT. Having a life scheme may seem stupid, but it will arrange your priorities and will help you easily transfer your will of act from a "this" to a "that"

The more focused you are on your ambitions, the greater the likelihood that you will achieve them.

 - Move Forward -

You can put into place as many plans as you like in your life, but if you do not really get going on anything, they will all amount to nothing. As soon as you begin to have positive thoughts, picture where you would like to be, use affirmations, and keep focused on your ambitions, then you are ready to begin progressing towards your goal. It doesn't matter if you achieve large or small steps, but it is essential that you are always progressing forwards and not just staying in one place.

Every one of these strategies is important, and if you use them together they will undoubtedly have astonishing effects on your life. Begin to use these "Law of Attraction" techniques and good things will certainly happen.

Reading and Study Methods

Efficient readers make good use of their time. They set purposes for reading and then read to meet their purposes. When your purpose is to study a reading selection, a good study method can help you become more efficient.
Efficient studying involves more than just reading. To study efficiently, you must get ready to read, read with a purpose, and then do something with what you have learned. The SQ3R study method can help you do this.

SQ3R stands for the following steps :
  • S U R V E Y
  • Q U E S T I O N
  • R E A D
  • R E C I T E
  • R E V I E W
The first two steps are survey and question. In these two steps your purpose is to get a general idea of what you will be reading about, to call to mind what you know about the topic, and to set purposes for your reading of the material. You use your skimming and scannning skills in these two steps, and usually you can accomplish your goal in about five minutes. This is true even if the assignment is a long of ten pages or more.

  First, survey your material

When you surrvey, you want to see how the material is put together. To determine organization, do the following things :
  1. Look at the title. Ask yourself, "What do I know about this topic?" Then make some guesses about what you think will be included in the chapter or essay. It is a good idea to write the title, a few notes about what you know on the topic, and your guesses in your notebook. Later you can come back and check yourself.
  2. Look at the author's name if one is given. Ask yourself if you are familiar with the author and, if so, what you know about him or her.
  3. Read the introduction. The main ideas and the general topic of the material are usually found in the introduction.
  4. Scan quickly through the material and identify new vocabulary presented in boldface or italicized print. Write these word in your notebook.
  5. Read the summary at the end of the chapter. The summary often tells relationships among ideas.
  6. Read the main heads, look at marginal notes, and note color-coded or other emphasized information. There are often the main ideas and more important points. The rest of the material will fill in information about these points.
  7. Look at illustrations. What can you guess about the chapter from the pictures?
Second, ask questions that will give you a purpose for studying

Make up questions to answer as you read. Some books have "purpose"questions at the beginning or end of chapters. Another source for questions is to change the title and topic headings into questions.
Think about each question for a moment to see if you can think of a possible answer. When you think of possible answers, you are using clues you have found in the question step. Write these questions and possible answers in your notebook.

Third, read to answer your purpose questions

Remember that your purpose will determine what you will pay most attention to. You will not necessarily read every sentences with the same care. Move as quickly as you can to answer your questions. If some content does not relate to your purpose, give it only a passing glance and move on.

Fourth, recite. Answer the questions you made up in the questions step

Be sure to answer questions in your own words instead of just reading the answer from the book. Putting the information in your own words helps you think about what you read. This is a good time to take notes by writing down the answers to your questions. You can also check to see if you know the meanings of the vocabulary words and how illustrations are used.

  Fifth, review

The very important review step actually has two parts : immediate review and delayed review. Immediate review involves going back over the questions and answers just as soon as you have finished the recite step. Read each purpose question from your notebook and try to answer the question without looking back or at your notes. If you cannot, look at your notes. Five to ten minutes of review should be enough for a chapter. Delayed review is reviewing again after one week.
When you use SQ3R, you do much more than open your book to a page, read to end of another page, and close your book. You get ready to read, you read, and then you review what you have learned. As you practice the method, you will become more and more efficient in your study.

Paid to write - Bukisa

If you are a online money maker, then surely you have heard about Squidoo, Helium or Associated Content. These are sites that are paying you for writing articles and reaching a minimum of 1000 unique visits. It may seem easy to achieve at beginning, but after you have registered and posted some articles, you'll see that the number of views remains the same as yesterday...

What is Bukisa?

It's something like HubPages, but without AdSense in it. It seems to be new on the market, so it may have problems with the traffic. I posted there today and in 3 hours I received only one unique visitor. I didn't for the making online money posts, because I thought that there are plenty of this. Right now, they pay you 3.42 for 1000 unique views. At start, it was 4 dollars per one thousand. They said that these cut off has been made due to the financial crisis. Let's hope they will increase it after the recession.

Revenue Share

You know what's good in comparation to other sites like Bukisa? The fact that you know from start how much you will earn if peolpe will read your content. From what I saw, there are few who reach that 1000 unique views/post.

I guess this has to do with the bad traffic or with the limited number of members. Anyway, if you manage reach 10 000 with a post, you have 35$

Let's suppose you make a good work and write down 5 good posts and reach 10 000 with each one - you have around 150 dollars...But, these are just calculations. I know somebody from there who has 50 people in his network and 7 articles, and he said he earned 17 dollars in the first month. Again, working hard is the solution for gathering visits. A good thing is that they pay you once you have reached 10 $ (paypal). Also, Bukisa is open to users worldwide, and this also is a big +.

But let's imagine a more realistic view of this Revenue Share program. Let's take Pete for example. Pete has published today 5 pieces, 5 gvery good pieces with a 500+ word average each. Each article will bring Simon 50 view a day - this means 7500-10000 views each month. Pete earns by his own, only by those articles that he posted in one day with hard work - 35 dollars. What if Pete would write each day 10 articles with a daily 10 visits each? This means 300 articles - 3000 views each day, and around 100 000 views/month -  350 dollars. You think this can be hard to achieve? Ok, we have, the realistical scenario - 35 dollars and the hard working one - 350 dollars.

What about referrals?

Well, as on MyLot, you earn 25% of their earnings. So, we already gave those two possible scenarios - 35$ and 350$. It means - 9 dollars for the realistic scenario and 90 for the hardworking one. Also, there are 3 levels for being paid. This means that you can earn money for the friends that the friends of your friends have invited, but you'll earn less, of course. So, to make a final statement - 50$/each month is a normal earning rate at Bukis, hope it will increase after getting new members.

Important information for Publishers

Also, you can submit at Bukisa contents from other websites, with the condition that it has to be written by you. I suppose you are not allowed to do that on other similar sites. You can link your twitter account with Bukisa each time you post, rate or comment something.
